Problem Statement

In Nigeria, 36% of children fail to complete primary education, with a significant number lacking access to quality extracurricular activities that promote holistic development (World Bank). In underserved communities like Makoko, these challenges are exacerbated by limited resources and opportunities.

Children often miss out on essential experiences, such as sports and arts, which are crucial for their cognitive development and social skills. This educational gap not only hampers their academic performance but also leaves them unprepared for the future, perpetuating cycles of poverty and disadvantage.

Our Approach & Solution

Level Up is a dedicated program aimed at improving the quality of education in makeshift primary schools in slum communities, enhancing children’s cognitive development through an enriched curriculum that includes sports, arts, technology, and social change-making initiatives.

By implementing these initiatives, we aim to LEVEL UP the teaching quality in Makoko schools, enhance the learning experiences of children, and ultimately equip them to lead fulfilling lives.

SPORTS

Level Up Football Academy

An innovative program designed to empower children in slum communities through structured football training combined with essential life skills education.

By engaging in the sport, participants not only develop their athletic abilities but also cultivate teamwork, resilience, and leadership qualities that are crucial for their personal and social development.

This initiative aims to bridge the gap in opportunities for children in underserved communities, providing them with a pathway to achieve their full potential both on and off the field.
